Jamie M. Rea (Director)

Jamie M. Rea

The Pillowman

From Berlin’s aerialist street ensemble, Grotest Maru to Wellington’s all female dance ensemble JAVA, Jamie has been exploring this powerful tool of connection and change for over 2 decades. Serving as an award winning director, designer, & performer, she has worked up & down both coasts and as far away as Australia.
Favorite directorial collaborations include The Devil and Billy Markham, 1940’s Radio Hours, Jesus Hopped the A Train, Fool for Love, Into the Woods, Chicago and the 4-time Drammy Award winning, Songs for a New World.
Most recently she co-founded The Beirut Wedding World Theatre Project where she serves as Co-Artistic Director. Her heart lies in the discoveries only found through collaboration and Jamie is thrilled to be newly delving into this raw and explosive material with an exceptional group of artists.

“Perfection is achieved not when there is nothing more to add,
but when there is nothing left to take away.”
